The second I made this, it became one of our favorite winter meals. Haushaltsplan friendly, hearty, so simple it involves not a single chopped vegetable, I had no idea stuffed cabbage could taste like this. (Italian Stuffed Cabbage on smittenkitchen.com or linked in profile. In more detail: Click the SK logo here. Where it says “find these recipes: ↴” (you might need to click “More” first to see it), click the link below it. It will take you to a grid of images that matches Instagram’s, but when you select the image for the recipe you want, it will take you to it.)

  • What do you mean – Italian? This is Golubzi!!

  • We make this often and it NEVER disappoints. Pro tip, cut out core of cabbage and boil the whole cabbage and the leaves literally peel off. SO much easier than how the recipe directs you to do it raw.

  • Stuffed cabbage is my favorite. My mom made hers (galumpkies) with hamburger meat, rice, some tomatoes, garlic and onions. Top with tomato juice and bake. So easy and delicious.

  • Have you ever tried this with picked cabbage? My polish mother came up with the idea to use it for regular cabbage rolls so you don’t have to boiled the cabbage. It’s really good and so nice to cut out the boiling step. I might try that with this one.
