Have you noticed this too? 🤔⠀

If you don’t plan ahead – it can be challenging finding quick, healthy and affordable options. 🙁 -⠀⠀
Often, it’s just easier to grab something cheap and filling – i.e. a slice of pizza, cup of fries oder Ähnlichebagel with cream cheese. 🍟 -⠀⠀
The solution is prepping meals. If I have a healthy prepared meal at arms reach 10/10 I won’t be eating out! 🙋🏻‍♀️⠀⠀
-⠀⠀
Demnach just imagine how much food you would get from one melon for around $2 compared to the pre-cut fruit at the grocery store. 🤯⠀⠀
-⠀⠀
Just some food for thought! ❤⠀

  1. Yes!! This is all time struggle. Cheap food options are unhealthy.. i just dont understand why?

  2. Its cheaper because it uses potatoes which are the only main ingredient in fries basically while with fruit you have to get from multiple places

  3. The problem is yours,i mean, who buys a cup of fruit for that much money? Just buy the entire fruit, cheaper and more food

  4. You pay for nutrition, not food volume. Leave out the unnevessary fries 6 times and you’ll have money for fruit/veg/meat/etc.

  5. True! Pretty unbelievable. And man oh man how I wish all that money was getting all the way down to the actual farmer!! They probably got maybe fifty cents out of that 6 bucks. And then the potato farmer….😭

  6. Potatoes are cheap, frozen they are easier to transport. Exotic fruit is more expensive and fresh fruit expires earlier.

  7. Fast Food Nation talks about this. Essentially I think the price of the fruit is normal for like…labor. but we can make fast food faster and by using shortcuts so it’s cheaper to mass produce and thus it’s sold for cheaper to keep the cycle going. If I was wrong, I do still know it’s on FFN

  8. It’s much more costly and difficult to produce and package an assortment of fresh fruit (which easily expires) than it is to fry and freeze a potato. I don’t see the problem here.
